More shots from the archives - May 2009. As I took this trip down memory lane, I recalled My First and Only (so far) Muskrat Encounter

This is the same image as the top one - just cropped a little closer so you can see the grasses in his mouth. I assume he was taking these for food for his little ones OR for building a nest.
I posted about this muskrat earlier on my blog - HERE he is coming up out of the water prior to gathering the grass - You can even see the duckweed on his face :)

Great muskrat encounter!
Oh, how adorable!
AWESOME! Your photo blows my muskrat outta the water. (figuratively, of course) Outstanding
I know what you mean... sometimes we just stumble upon critters and photo ops that end up with a lot of wow factor... love your shots, you were quite close.. wouldn't you love to be able to run your fingers through that fur coat?
Awww, what a wonderful photo Kerri...great job!
Beautiful photo.
I like both versions.

Can't help but think of the song, "Muskrat Love." What a lucky photo opportunity!
Wow, those are gorgeous, Kerri!
Certainly one animal none of us having an opportunity to photograph very often. I don't think I've ever even seen one!
It's Muskrat Love! Oh, but I see someone else has beat me to that.
Love all of these, my friend. I never get to see this sort of thing IRL, so this is a treat.
Great shots!
Now that's a mouthful! great muskrat behavior captured.
He's so cute! Such a great shot of him/her in it's natural environment just doing what Muskrat's do!
I think this is my one and only (so far) encounter with a muskrat image! Thanks,
I like these shots very much! These guys make me think of skinny-tailed beavers. Hard and shrewd workers, they are lovely.
Definitely, I have Muskrat Love now!! So cute. I've never seen one before!
