I'm calling that a Cooper's Hawk, which you tend to see zipping through wooded areas near backyard bird feeders this time of year. They like to munch on songbirds.

Great picture! I love getting pictures of hawks. They are plentiful here in Upstate NY. Interesting -- my niece is a graduate of Radford U.
