I'll say it again...what a day you had!
Great hawk! I've noticed a few around here, but they are so very Ratty looking. So dirty and scraggly and ruffled. They fit into the environment perfectly!
Wonderful shot of the hawk, Kerri!
Great picture! I love getting pictures of hawks. They are plentiful here in Upstate NY. Interesting -- my niece is a graduate of Radford U.
The hawk and gull are spectacular shots.
Wow you took a lot of pictures!!
I was surrounded by gulls the other day in a parking lot.
Oh my, he is truly beautiful! They are such majestic birds. You captured him so wonderfully. :) Theresa
Oh and what a beauty it is. We have a few hawks scouting my back yard on occasion. It makes for quiet bird feeders this winter.
That is a gorgeous picture.
Blessings,Ruth
That is a gorgeous photo, especially for a first time attempt.
I'm calling that a Cooper's Hawk, which you tend to see zipping through wooded areas near backyard bird feeders this time of year. They like to munch on songbirds.
Beautiful, athletic, acrobatic birds. Thank you for the photo.
How exciting, Kerri! That's a wonderful shot, very broodingly beautiful.
Beautiful catch!
The clarity and pose are terrific! Did you tell it to turn its head?
Nice! I'm hoping to head North here in a month or two to catch some eagles. I've never captured a click of one. You inspire me to try!
He's quite lovely and a magnificent hunter I'm sure!
G-g-g-g-orgeous!!
The quote is great, considering the day that brought you this photo-op.
Wow surely you were completely excited about the encounter and quite happy to see this nice picture on your computer. The picture is fantastic!
The darker coloration threw me off, but like jatkin, I'll go with Cooper's due to the tail. Wonderful shot Kerri!
Hawks aren't easy to get! Very nice!
Oh wow, congrats on your first one - wonderfully captured too!
you never forget your first hawk! A great shot. I haven't been by your blog in a while; I get so nervous before a wedding shoot I can't do much but sit and WORRY!!
Congratulations on your first hawk photo! It is very beautiful!
Very nice! a great close-up.
Your first attempt but great!
Seeing a hawk ALWAYS makes my day!! Love them! Great shot you got there.
